Our Story

For those of us who have been around long enough, we see the repeating cycles and gaps in the technology industry over time. Over the last 20 years, our founder, Michael Wasielewski, has lived the cycles of virtualization, cloud, containers, and now with AI we see parallels emerge. After helping thousands of AWS customers be secure during the different phases of their cloud journeys, working hand-in-hand to deliver business-focus outcomes as Capgemini helped clients transform, and innovating on what exactly “generative AI security” really meant with hundreds of folks around the globe, he saw a chance to get ahead of the curve.

Today, the explosion of generative AI has created a familiar tension between developers, security teams, and business leaders. In the early cloud days, those who could quickly promote innovative cloud applications into production while remaining secure and creating business value quickly differentiated themselves.

Our Founder

Michael Wasielewski

Michael Wasielewski is the founder and lead of Generative Security. With 20+ years of experience, including running Capgemini’s global strategies for Cloud and Generative AI Security, helping Amazon Web Services (AWS) customers move fast and be secure as a Principal Security and Compliance Specialist, running a global security team for Abt Associates, and leading networking efforts and teams at Lockheed Martin, Michael brings a holistic perspective to new technologies. Now working on generative AI, Michael connects the dots between the organizational, technical, and business impacts of generative AI security. Michael originally hails from New Jersey and spent 30+ years up and down the East Coast. Now located in Sydney, Australia after a few years in Paris, France, Michael brings a global approach to problem solving and meeting customers where they are – capability wise and geographically.

Generative Security operates out of Sydney, Australia and Delaware, United States, with our primary office in Campbelltown, New South Wales, Australia. We are situated to work with global clients in North America, Europe and the Middle East, and the Asia Pacific region.
